Believe it or not, I subscribe to the PETA mailing list. This morning, I got an email (okay, more like three of them) of this new case they have against PetSmart, the place where at least 25% of my income goes because I need to buy clothes for my dog. Apparently, they weren't taking care of the animals they sell and at several stores, they had a bunch in the back that were dying. There are photos of some of the animals on this website and it's absolutely disgusting. I'm seriously horrified.

I woke up this morning to the following voicemail:

"Heather! Hey, it's Ed! [So obviously a drunk greeting.] Listen, I know it's almost 2 a.m., but I just had to tell you something. I had an epiphany about you and me tonight. I'll tell you about it tomorrow at work.. or maybe the next day. Well, hope you had a good day. Night."

What in the sam hell?

I can't wait to go to work tonight and see what this "epiphany" was. (End sarcasm.)

Today was actually a really fun day. Megan came home from school early around 9:30, so we decided to go to the mall and shop for a Christmas present for her boyfriend, Luke. We stopped for lunch and made a pitstop in center city to go to Rockstation and Le Chocolat. I got some sugar plums in there and they're going to be the death of me.

AND.. I made more cookies! I'm turning into Martha Stewart.

Actually, it's just because I feel like I haven't done anything very Christmas-y this whole holiday season, so now I'm trying to make up for it within the next four days.

Okay, here's the deal with the beach:

I found an awesome house that's oceanside with a hot tub and a pool. If 10 people go, it's $75 per person for the house and we would have to leave on Friday, the last day of finals. If you go to Southern Shores Realty, it's property #004 and it's called "Sea Fever."

If you're interested, let me know, I want to book it as soon as I can. :)

It is SO nice to be home early. I got a shower early and I got to watch Wheel of Fortune AND I got to eat dinner with my FAMILY. Woo!

Okay, I have to be a nerd for a second. We finished watching A Beautiful Mind in class today and my face seriously hurt from trying not to cry. I loved the movie and I particularly loved this one quote..

The past 2 days have ruled because:

1. I got an A- on my Law & Ethics exam.
2. Found out that I'm definitely going to New Orleans.
3. Laughed at absolutely everything yesterday.
4. Got out of my seminar early.
5. Found out that while in New Orleans, we're going to some gala at Mardi Gras World on Friday night. Does this mean I might get to wear the new black dress?! :D

I have to study for a Film quiz and finish up my Spanish homework. Atlantic City update tonight.

3 houses down from my Aunt's house.

How freaking perfect is it that Titanic is on tonight? :P

We faired okay flood-wise. We didn't get hit with any water, but my aunt who lives about 4 blocks away right at the north end of my street got hit really bad. Her basement was full.. it was at the 2nd to top step of her basement. I'll write an entry about everything tomorrow or so, whenever I get a chance.

All right, so just a real quick update..

I'm not sure how much I'll be around this weekend. We've gotten so much rain here that the river is already flooding. I think flood stage is 26 feet and it's supposed to hit that today at noon. I'm like 3 blocks back from the river.. so I'm not too sure how this is all going to affect us. In '72, we had 38 feet of water and that was about 5 feet in some of the homes on our street. The river's supposed to crest tonight between 34 and 36 feet, so I'm not sure what that means for us. I was over at our neighbor's and she had this website up that had flood stages and where the water was during what floods and stuff. She said she'd be happy if it stayed at 35 feet, but as long as we were under 37 feet we were okay.

So keep your fingers crossed.
